Overview

Trulia is looking for a GIS Analyst/Coordinator to join the development team behind Trulia Neighborhoods, focused on the foundational location data and maps that power our real estate site and mobile apps. Your contributions will have an immediate impact on how people discover a place they’ll love to live. As a member of Trulia’s Maps & GIS team, you will:

Drive data curation efforts, coordinating closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Content teams
Establish overall process for analysis efforts and develop a framework for capturing related artifacts
Utilize project management tools and techniques, following a continuous improvement model
Establish, track, and report on key performance metrics
Create, maintain, and ensure quality of geographic datasets, including digitizing, editing, managing attributes, and synthesizing multiple sources
Perform spatial analysis, including review, design, modeling, normalization, and visualization of new and existing spatial data
Research, evaluate, and acquire geospatial data from a variety of sources including public domain
Establish criteria for location data curation in line with business objectives and product requirements
Play a central role in requirements definition and design of tools, applications, and techniques that streamline/automate GIS processes and BI analysis
Contribute to the advancement of our mapping stack
Provide advice and training on geospatial technologies throughout the organization
Take part in the greater GIS community, keeping abreast of practices, tools, and technology
Who you are
Demonstrated ability to coordinate work efforts across a cross-functional project team
Project management software skills
Ideally have a Bachelors of Arts or Science degree in Geography, GIS, or related field, along with 2+ years experience as a GIS professional
Demonstrated ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources, visualize through maps/charts/tables, and present to business stakeholders
Familiarity with QGIS or ArcGIS editing tools and geospatial data and formats
Ideally have experience managing geospatial data in relational databases, including providing formatted outputs to data consumers and integrating databases with GIS and other visualization and reporting platforms
