Responsibilities As a Geospatial Information Systems Specialist, you will:
Provide the Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Program Manager and Geographic Information System (GIS) Coordinator with Geographic Information System (GIS) component input for the Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) projects. Required information may include, but is not limited to: recommended projects prioritization, timelines, resource requirements, and justification.
Ensure that the functional requirements of the Sustainable Range Program (SRP) Geographic Information System (GIS) Program on Fort Benning are met, which are to support Soldier training, Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM), Range Operations, and Range Modernization geospatial support requirements.
Create and modifies the required geospatial data to conform to Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) guidelines and sends the resulting data to the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) functional administrator to incorporation into the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) graphic fire desk.
Provide Sustainable Range Program (SRP) Geographic Information System (GIS) support.

Travel Required Occasional travel – This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

The position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE), Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility and Security, Ft. Benning, Georgia 31905. The "Maneuver Center of Excellence" is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Incumbent may be non-competitively promoted pending time-in-grade requirements, successful completion of all training and demonstrated ability to perform the target level grade duties. Public transportation and free parking is available.
