Overview

Asset Management Analyst duties include, but are not limited to:

 

Assists in the development, implementation and coordination of the Town of Vail’s asset management/work order system used to monitor the location, identification, condition, and maintenance costs of town assets for the Public Work’s operational divisions.
Collects, organizes, processes, and distributes GPS field data for use in GIS and CMMS and ensures proper integration and functionality between the two programs. Works with operations and management to identify asset inventory gap and needs.
Works with users at all levels to integrate CMMS’s role in developing operational priorities, standards, and work flows that align with department goals and objectives. Identifies trends and evaluates work progress.
Supports department managers in asset capital planning.
Supports, advises, and trains users on the general use of the CMMS to include work orders, time and task tracking functions, asset inspections, and accurate data entry.
Supports department by providing technological direction, training, and expertise in the use of laptops, tablets, GPS units, and other mobile devices as they relate to ArcGIS and CMMS to meet operational goals. Researches, suggests, and implements technological advances to support streamlined and accurate data input.
When necessary, modifies asset data to accurately reflect physical attributes, characteristics, and condition assessments to support integrity of asset data analysis and reporting.
Assists with the establishment, configuration, security, and maintenance of user profiles within GIS and CMMS.
Configures users’ software interface, templates, inspection forms and other relevant documents in order to streamline department work.
Assists with the uploading of building plans, equipment warranties and records, police reports, outside vendor condition assessments, and all other pertinent records as they relate to establishing a more comprehensive asset record.
Works closely with the department’s accounts payable function to ensure that the inclusion of materials data and associated costs are reflected in the CMMS in an accurate and timely manner.
Prepares financial, operational, maintenance, budgetary, and other technical reports using the CMMS report structure for users at all levels.
Aids department staff in the day-to-day quality control of data input. Helps to rectify discrepancies and reaches out to department employees and supervisors to ensure proper procedures are being consistently followed and the CMMS is being used to its full potential to produce the highest quality analytics/reporting.
Creates, plots, and delivers maps for department and outside sources as directed. Develops GIS drawings as requested and responds to inquiries and general requests involving GIS-related matters when necessary.
Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of geospatial technologies and state of the art practices. Keeps current with asset management best practices, trends, and innovations. Maintains professional networks and attends training in order to support ongoing initiatives and as necessary to advance skills in all areas of responsibility.
Assists GIS Coordinator in the maintenance and enhancement of existing geospatial datasets and web map applications and proactively seeks opportunities to create/obtain new useful datasets for use in GIS and CMMS.
Performs hardware (e.g. plotter, GPS) upkeep, and other technical tasks as required.
Performs job in accordance with all Town of Vail safety practices.
Serves the citizens and guests of Vail while abiding by all Town of Vail core values.

Qualified applicants must meet the following:

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Data & Statistical Analytics, Engineering, Information Technologies, Computer Science or another closely related field; and,
Required 1-3 years of full-time experience utilizing ESRI ArcGIS application suite and tools with Computerized Maintenance Management System experience a plus.
An equivalent combination of education, experience and training might be considered.

About Town of Vail

The Town of Vail is now hiring an Asset Management Analyst to be responsible for the Department of Public Works/Transportation’s GIS-centric asset management, cost accounting, and work order Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This system supports the day-to-day operations of the Streets, Facility Maintenance, and Parks Divisions. Under the direction of the Town of Vail’s General Services Administrator and the GIS Coordinator, the Asset Management Analyst will perform a full range of CMMS functions and serves as an integral team member in the establishment and integration of work flow processes for asset management, GIS, cost accounting and work order tasks. The position plays a key role in the geodatabase and asset management database collection, creation, assembly, and accuracy.
