Overview

Participates in GIS support of emergency response activities.

Serves as a representative to attend meetings and seminars related to GIS.

Qualifications The education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Geographic Information System Technician III include : the equivalent of four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience comparable to that of a GIS Technician II for the City of Oxnard in GIS or automated mapping project experience and an Associate’s degree with major course work in Geographic Information Systems, cartography, computer science, information systems, graphic design or related courses. A Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, cartography, computer science, information systems and/or graphic design is highly desirable.

License/Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class “C” California driver’s license.
