GIS Analyst II

In this position, you will perform technical duties for Public Works and provide technical support to higher level management or supervisory staff.

Essential Job Functions – the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:

Investigate internal and external questions; research and respond to concerned groups; and electronically file related documentation
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Maintain awareness of new trends and developments; incorporate into programs
Provide technical support for users
Investigate and document problems; produce return on investment examples
Perform quality assurance/quality control procedures on delivered data and relevant data sources; prepare delivered data for department use
Perform computations or complex analysis using statistical, engineering, or mapping methods
Prepare charts, graphs, and technical reports in Cartegraph OMS; detailed Standard Operating Procedures; or documents used for presentations

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of:
Modern office procedures and equipment
Principles, practices, and procedures of technical engineering drawing, construction, inspection, and record-keeping
Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Methods and techniques of field investigation and inspection

Ability to:
Create reports in Cartegraph OMS through web design tools
Work independently
Research crash locations for damaged assets
Learn to research land ownership and easement records
Understand drainage principles, plans, and plats
Apply and explain pertinent City policies and procedures
Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships
