About the Job

Shape the business strategy and guide our execution in implementing production systems at topographic, hydrographic, and aeronautical customers worldwide. In this cross-cutting services leadership position, you’ll be responsible for a overseeing a portfolio of activities at a senior level and developing trusted relationships with sales and marketing leads in these markets—working collaboratively to help Esri be successful at national mapping agencies in the US and abroad. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish a consistent strategy that unifies the daily rhythm of proposals and project activities
  • Provide visionary leadership to project teams who are delivering systems, including strategic review of service opportunities and providing heavy input to development teams on the direction of mapping and charting solutions (formerly PLTS)
  • Be the single leader that connects the distributive teams related to national mapping initiatives; work collaboratively with other practice leads, such as within oceans and aviation sectors, on areas that overlap with national mapping to establish a single, consistent message to customers and unified operations
  • Generally you’ll be directing our PMs and tech teams as they handle particular projects and activities; at times you will be expected to be Esri’s senior representative to executive level leadership of potential customers
  • Provide direction to product team, translating customer executive leader vision to the next generation of content production technology

 


  • Ten or more years of professional experience with credible and demonstrable examples of leadership in national mapping organizations or commercial content providers, or experience implementing GIS software in large production organizations
  • A deep understanding of the national mapping organizations’ values and challenges
  • Knowledge of GIS technology and its value for national mapping organizations
  • Established relationships in the national mapping community
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, engineering, GIS, or other related field, depending on position level

 

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Experience with Esri’s mapping and charting suite of software products (Esri Production Mapping, Esri Defense Mapping, ArcGIS for Aviation, ArcGIS for Maritime)
  • Understanding of IT architectures, including cloud-based deployment patterns and security, and their relevance to national mapping missions
