General Description: A postdoctoral position is available for work on the synthesis and analysis of historical and paleo records of the impact of climate change on terrestrial, limnic and coastal ecosystems in the southwestern United States and Colorado Basin. The position is funded through the Department of the Interior Southwest Climate Science Center (DoI SWCSC). The Fellow will work at UCLA under the direction of Glen MacDonald and will be expected to participate in the activities and initiatives of the SWCSC including interacting with other SWCSC post-docs, DoI scientists and the wider stakeholder community. The successful applicant will have training and a proven record in ecological/paleoecological analysis, geospatial data analysis and the use of GIS. Familiarity with or capability to learn ecological modeling tools such as Maxent and data base tools such as MS Access would be an asset.
