USGIF Universal GeoINT Pilot Exams
Via the USGIF… USGIF is strengthening the GEOINT profession through the creation of a new geospatial intelligence certification based on the GEOINT Essential Body of Knowledge (EBK). This in-depth, professional certification requires knowledge of remote sensing and imagery analysis, GIS and analysis tools, data management, data visualization, synthesis and reporting. There will be three exams covering these topics.
Achieving USGIF’s Universal GEOINT Certification will allow geospatial professionals to distinguish themselves as internationally recognized GEOINT practitioners. USGIF is conducting pilot exams for short periods of time prior to the release of each exam to the public. Results from these pilot exams will be used to finalize exam content and set pass/fail criteria. Any individual who takes and passes a pilot exam receives credit for completing the USGIF credential.
We are pleased to announce USGIF will be administering pilot exams for the Remote Sensing and Imagery Analysis and GIS and Analysis Tools credentials. Successfully passing each exam will result in being granted the appropriate USGIF Universal GEOINT Certificate and also counts toward award of the USGIF Universal GEOINT Certification. We expect the third test, Data Management, to be in pilot during Summer 2015. Passing all three exams is required to be granted the USGIF Universal GEOINT Certification.
Testing will be held 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. at USGIF headquarters in Herndon, Va. USGIF is offering both its Remote Sensing & Imagery Analysis and GIS & Analysis Tools exams on select dates below.
